Temporary Technical Writer

Volition, the THQ studio that developed the Saints Row and Red Faction franchises, is seeking a detail-oriented individual to fill the role of Technical Writer (Temp). The Technical Writer (Temp) will work with the Technical Art Director and developers to create supporting documentation and training materials for new tools and pipelines being used for PS3 and Xbox 360 game development.

• Create supporting technical documentation for new and existing tools, pipelines and workflows created by Technical Artists and other developers
• Develop tutorials and other training documentation for new and existing tools, pipelines and workflows

• College degree in computer or technical fields a plus
• One year of technical writing experience preferred
• Familiarity with 3D Software Packages a plus but not required
• Strong writing, editing and content design skills
• Sound understanding of technical writing methods, techniques and formats
• Proficient with Microsoft office applications and diagramming software
• Independent self-starter with excellent communication skills that pays close attention to detail

Sample Work Required:

• Sample documentation showcasing ability to clearly and concisely document a technical tool, process or pipeline.
• Sample how-to or tutorial document showing ability to guide a user through tool usage or pipeline via documentation.

Note: Ability to work in location in Champaign, Illinois is required.
