David Payne

David comes to us from the small town of Ponchatoula, Louisiana. In 2002 he moved to Winter Park, Florida so that he could enjoy the taste of ice cold Slurpies five times a day, every day, and attend art school. After graduating, he moved back home with mommy and daddy, where he eventually landed his first freelance gig from the comfort of his couch. After a handful of freelance jobs and some time at an independent game studio in Baton Rouge, he was ready for the big time! David is currently an Environment Artist here at Volition, but is ready to learn anything and everything else there is to know about the games industry, except programming. He lives in Champaign with his fiancée, Maya, and their two children, Alexis and Reese. His hobbies are comic books, action figures, video games, and collecting shoes. Don’t pick on him about collecting shoes.
